Thanks again to our sponsors, specifically Ian Hubbard of Hubbard & Torlot and John Smith of F Smith & Son for awarding the prizes.
See you all again next year.
After nearly 2 years of no team squash, we entered 2 teams into the Surrey inter-club leagues, in divisions 7 and 8. We were able to put together a large squad of keen players, something we have struggled with over the last few campaigns. After a shaky start, losing our first fixtures, both teams managed to go unbeaten throughout November.
An exciting end to the season for the first team, with the last match against Wimbledon, 2nd place against 3rd place, with a winner takes all for promotion. After an evening of close matches, Warlingham came through 4-1 winners on the night securing promotion to Division 6.
The second team managed to secure a solid mid-table position with an away victory in the last game against our close rivals Purley, winning 3-2 on the night. Special mentions of congratulations to Rob and Bradley for an unbeaten season.
We look forward to the summer season where due to an increase in members wanting to play team squash we have entered 3 teams, 2 teams in the Surrey league and 1 team in the Kent league.
A big thanks to our main sponsors – F. Smith & Son, Hubord Turlot and Samsara for their generous support.
WSRC were proud to host the Under19 age group of the Surrey Gold event. We had 64 of the best u19 girls and boys in the country who played 131 matches. For the 3 days the atmosphere was buzzing and some excellent squash was played.
We launched our new Junior section shirts on Saturday 22nd January. They're nice and bright so we can't be missed. With thanks to our main club sponsors plus our 'sleeve' sponsors, Security Wise Solutions Limited and Spanswick Ltd.
The squash team with Jamil, the owner of Samsara and also one of our sponsors. A great night out and we can't recommend Samsara enough.
